Location and Accomodation
Evergreen Lodge Care Centre is situated within a residential area of Rock Ferry on the Wirral within easy reach of local amenities and just a few minutes from Birkenhead town centre. Evergreen is easily accessible with a regular bus service to and from Birkenhead, Chester and Liverpool. Rock Ferry train station is situated approximately 15 minutes walk away.
Evergreen Lodge is a three storey 31 bedded building providing nursing and specialist care. Externally there are landscaped gardens and enclosed courtyards. All of these areas are secure and allow the residents the freedom to enjoy the outside space
Philosophy of Care
A resident’s stay with us is a continuation of family life and we encourage visitors to visit whenever possible. Everyone is invited to join us for social occasions and special events. We have an active social calendar with daily therapeutic activities, led by our dedicated activities co-ordinator.
The whole staff team sees each person as an individual with a unique background. Our ethos is for person centered care and our Recreational Theraputic Lead is dedicated to researching the person’s unique background and helping the resident in making their life story books and boards, which assist the team in delivering person centered care.
Training and Development
Evergreen Lodge has an excellent management team, with many years experience in dementia care, which enhances their abilities to build a highly motivated, enthusiastic, dedicated and caring team. Our vision is to provide our residents with individualised holistic care, delivered within a secure, relaxing, homely and conductive environment, in which their physical and psychological care, wellbeing and comfort are of prime importance to both staff and management. We are committed to the training and development of our staff , which enhances the the quality of life of our residents.
The local amenities residents can enjoy include:- visiting the local shops, Port Sunlight Garden Centre, and the historical Lady Lever art gallery. We also organise trips out and recently our residents enjoyed visits to Tam o’Shanter Farm, ten pin bowling, the cinema, swimming and Chester Zoo.
Wherever possible residents are supported in following ther own hobbies and interests. Some of the social activities the residents enjoy are: eating out, flower arranging, and listining to talking books. The home has recently purchased a pool table and a gym.
Food and nutrition is an important aspect of the care we provide and menus are carefully selected to offer a nutritious well balanced and healthy diet. Special dietary are catered for and birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions are celebrated. We pride ourselves in the choice and quality of the food we serve.
